National Energy Administration Issues Guidelines for New Energy Storage Development

The National Energy Administration recently issued the "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Development of New Energy Storage," proposing that by 2025, new energy storage will transition from its commercialization stage to scaled development, with installed capacity exceeding 3000 million kilowatts. By 2030, it aims to achieve fully market-oriented development of new energy storage, effectively meeting the needs of building a new power system. The guidelines clarify that a sound price mechanism for new energy storage will be established and promoted, enabling storage facilities to participate in electricity market trading.
